Hello

Ive just purchased a second Nvidia 480 for my system but I seem to be having a problem trying to boot. I turn on the computer and it shows the asrock logo for about a second and goes straight into the bios. It has managed to load up windows once in about 3 hours of trying.

Ive made sure the SLI Bridge in seated correctly
Both card have been tested seperatly and work fine (computer boots into windows with either card as long as its on its own)
switched cards around
cleared CMOS
disabled onboard graphics

Hope someone can shed some light on the situation as ive had a good look round and cant find anything.

Specs are

Intel 2600k @4.4Ghz (tried with stock clocks)
Asrock Extreme 4 Gen 3
Corsair XMS 3 8GB
Corsair AX1200 PSU
2x Nvidia 480's (stock clocks)

i would try Booting up with both cards with no SLI bridge. see if that works.

when you cleared the CMOS how did you do it?

i had a similar issue with my 570GTX's clearing the BIOS through software Factory reset didn't fix it but using the jumper did.

Thanks for the quick reply

Yeh I have actually tried booting with no bridge and got the same, as for clearing the CMOS I actually did use the factory settings one. I could try the jumper andsee if that works.

i would it worked for me my issue was worse though it would boot then turn off... i thought i blew my PSU xD

Try different slots, IIRC my Extreme 7 only works in SLI with certain slots, and not the two closest together by the CPU. There's a slot between my SLI pair.

Andi.

i'm having a similar problem.i added a third gtx470 and they do work but i get no bios screens in post.just blank till it goes straight into windows.the third card has a different bios to the others

Ok just checked BIOS on the bother cards and there are slight different.

Card one is showing 70.00.21.00.80
Card two is showing 70.00.21.00.02

Also ona side note when looking in gpuz it still shows the inetl hd graphics as on, ive disabled in device manager. Cant see a setting in bios to disable onboard gpu except it choises pice first.

in one section There normally Onboard chipset page

it will have
LAN 1 - ON
LAN 2 - ON
Marvell - ON
VIdeo - ON

check there

Have had a read and slightly differing bios's shouldnt be a problem, also cant find those options anywhere in bios smogsy

Got them working finally not sure what i actually did though. My BIOS version was 1.00 and latest was 1.10 so I decided to update and see if it would change anything. Anyway after updating I couldnt get any card to work and had to use onboard to get past BIOS, downloaded the latest BETA drivers from Nvidia and shut down. Put both cards can in and voila it worked, so yeh it was either updating the BIOS or updating to todays nvidia drivers not sure but there working now!

Thanks for the help
