Well I'm really curious to see what AMD is going to do now with their pricing...
Pleasantly surprised to not see $1,600 5080..
You say that like it's a bad thing, you aint seen my gas billPre order now to maximise the temperature of your room
Well let's look at it this way:It's a price increase for sure, but not quite as doom and gloom as people expected?
It looks like I was pretty closeGeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070Ti and 5070 to launch in Q1 2025, RTX 5070 expected to feature 6400 cores - VideoCardz.com
GeForce RTX 50 lineup – new details Benchlife has published an interesting report that not only discusses our leak on the RTX 5070 Ti specifications but also fills in some of the missing details. Based upon this leak and sales figures from the 40 Series I think Nvidia have learned from this gen that people will only pay top dollar for the top card. The 4080 did not sell at $1200 but the 4080 Super did at $1000. That could be why the leaks suggest the 5090 being even further ahead of the 5080 than the 4090 is of the 4080.
I think the 70 series cards are also more cut down than usual to be able to sell them at a lower price point, with perhaps not much of a generational rasterisation improvement but still +20% or so in Ray-tracing. I also think an 8GB 5060 is dumb but people will buy it and the rumours suggest that it is true. The 5060Ti might have a bit more VRAM though this time as again the 4060Ti 8GB sold poorly:
5090 32GB: $1800 RRP (£1700-2200 cards)
5080 16GB: $950 RRP (£900-1200 cards)
5070Ti 16GB: $750 RRP (£700-900 cards)
5070 12GB: $550 RRP (£500-650 cards)
5060Ti 12GB: $400 RRP (£375-450 cards)
5060 8GB: $300 RRP (£275-350 cards)
The 8Gb model apparently sold poorly, the 16Gb model much better. That was according to a Hardware Unboxed podcast referring to Mindfactory Sales in Germany and Amazon Sales listingsYou say the 4060Ti sold poorly, but it is one of the more popular cards on the Steam hardware survey.
