I remember this time last gen when some folk were jesting with terms like fake frames and people were defending it no problem. Fickle lot considering many bought the Ada series..
Standard fickle gamers with double standards. Nothing new.

And then if wanted a 4090 user can turn on upscaling tech themselvesNvidia's marketing for the 5070 has worked perfectly. All the idiots on social media are claiming is as fast or faster than a 4090..
They don't care it has to fake frames and introduce massive latency to do it..
They are going to be disappointed when they buy one and its not a 4090..
Me too.I would have liked to see more memory on the 5080
Not to mention when is runs out of VRAM. BUT LOOK AT THE FRAMES (fake)And then if wanted a 4090 user can turn on upscaling tech themselves
Is the 5070 likely to be capable of 4K 60fps with acceptable DLSS settings? Or is it going to be a blur and AI glitchfest?
Pritty capable i should imagine but vram is going to be the main problem there. Is the 5070 likely to be capable of 4K 60fps with acceptable DLSS settings? Or is it going to be a blur and AI glitchfest?
Looks fine with just DLSS upscaling though
Frame generation fails yet again

I just checked Reddit and the number of smooth brains defending MFG is insane
Let's break it down into statistics shall we. Even if I liked frame generation's artifacts and ghosting, which I don't, the problem is that Nvidia frame gen is only supported in 75 games
In 2024, 19,000 new games were launched on Steam. That means 0.003% of games in 2024 have frame generation, yet Nvidia based their entire sales pitch on these 0.003% of games... and the idiots lapped it up
So grim i take it your not getting a 5090 then...
And that's coming to all RTX GPUs. At the end of January, all RTX GPUs will get free higher frames, higher image quality and lower latency
You don't need to buy a rtx5000 GPU
Like you’ve said, for the games YOU play it makes no difference. Whereas for me it would make a big difference as I own a 4K 240hz monitorAgain these to me are just none logical justification, looking for reasons to upgrade, rather than thinking about it scientifically. I have a 6800XT that plays all games absolutely fine, 99% of which in high or ultra settings smoothly, I have a 144hrz variable refresh screen, so if it goes to 48 fps thats fine as the screen refresh changes so no tearing.
Very much in my ‘reality’ phase vs what i think is ‘needed’ emotionally.
If someone gave me a 5090 id have it, wouldn’t make ANY difference in the games i play though, would run smooth, vs abit more smooth but still an identical game.
This puts the 5080 at 10% faster than 4090 and the 5070Ti 10% faster than 4080. Far Cry 6 is also heavily CPU single-thread bottlenecked so I think the Plague Tale numbers are more relevant.5000 series FPS:
