NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Whaat you were getting the 5090 last night lol. @TNA

He loves frame gen too much. When he see the cool kids with the high fps and will be locked out of the tech it will grate on him.

Don't forget the extra vram he loves these days.

Then one day we will get a post suddenly saying he found a 5090 at a good price and sold his 4090 at a very good price so upgrade cost was cheap.

That day the clown pic will do the rounds again. Might even update it

So from everything i have read and watched it just seems more and more like the price tag of all the new series cards is pretty much for a bit of software that is effectively over inflating there numbers due to Multi Frame generation as the rasterisation perfomance uplift on each card does look to be only about 25-30% ish from there predeccessor.

That is if i am understanding frame generation correctly of course.
Of course pure raster performance it will only be about 30 percent faster than a 4090 no one's gonna part with probably over 2000 pounds just for that so they have to have bit of exclusive software just for the 50 series a bit of a con really.

I didnt watch the presentation, so is it looking like I will be able to get a 50% raw performance improvement (not AI frames etc) over my rtx3080 for around the £650 mark?

A quick glance around that price point is the 5070Ti at £729. Looks to be about 25/30% faster than 4070Ti (none super?)

you are only counting the people who own a 4090 not the target audience

I can imagine tons of people will buy it who still use a 3090 and have cash to spare

" Yeah I wasn't looking for one but I suddenly saw one and it was only $10.99 so at that price I just had to get it"

every generation upgrade I seem comments from people on previous gen saying there's no need to upgrade same happened with the 9800x3d and 7800x3d owners commented the same. Like you say they aren't the target.

Yup agree with these sentiments: target audience is 30 series owners and @mrk

Not bought a top tier card since the 1080Ti - if I cough up the dough for the 5090 will I become jaded with tech prices by time next generation comes out like so many others on here :p

But I'm not getting one

since there is lots of headroom what are the odds they bring out a 5090ti?

The performance gap between the 5090 and 4090 would literally be doubled if they released a full fat Blackwell GPU instead of the cut down GPU the 5090 has - the 5090 is 25% faster than the 4090 but it would have been 50% faster if they gave us the full size, so there is lots of headroom for a new GPu

I blame AMD, Nvidia keeps cutting down the GPU more due to no competition

Of course they are.

NVidia know the same suckers buy it every year regardless of price, that’s why we’re seeing £2000+ cards as the norm for top tier cards.
