AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 3DMark Leak: 3.0 GHz, 330W TBP, faster than RTX 4080 SUPER in TimeSpy and 4070 Ti in Speed Way

oops wrong thread sorry. I already posted this!

I wouldnt pay attention to pure raster. The uplift to watch out for is PT without DLSS enabled.
Also, old games/benchmarks only tell one story. 4090 was around 60% faster than 3090 on launch. That climbed slightly to around 70% now for UE5 games, with the exception of AW2 where 4090 is 150% faster than 3090.

Exactly. Makes me laugh. These guys suddenly care about raster performance. Thought it was all about RT? You have plenty raster performance with a 4090/5090. It is the RT performance that is needed.

Grim was all about the RT once. Now he cries about raster performance. Goes to show he was full of crap when saying he could afford to smash his 3090 with a hammer. He probably couldn't smash a dodgy 3050 based on his recent posts

That's very true. I can't remember the last game I played that offered RT that I didn't use RT on. So raster uplift is kind of irrelevant.

5090 back on the menu boys panic over.

DLSS performance is important if future games are running at 20 fps native for example.

Even if that's true (which I don't think it will be once cards are properly tested, but we'll soon find out - I predict it will match or be slightly faster than 4090), what do you think people are going to be willing to pay for a second hand 4090 when they can get a brand new 5080 for £1k...or even a 5070 with MFG for less than £600 that Jensen promised the gullible peeps matched 4090 performance???

4090 has 52% more CUDA cores, 5% more memory bandwidth and only a 4% lower boost clock, plus 50% more VRAM. How exactly are you expecting the 5080 to get anywhere near the 4090's raw performance?!

Kopite claimed +10% and he's been right about everything else, including the prices, when everyone else was claiming to the moon and back.

5080 10% ahead of the 4090 you mean?

I just don't see how this is remotely possible, given the raw stats comparison between the two.

Also bear in mind that the 5090 is basically double the stats of the 5080 so, if the 5080 was 4090 performance, the 5090 would be double 4090 performance which it clearly isn't.

Don't get me wrong, if the 5080 beat the 4090 and the 5090 was twice the speed, I'd be all over the latter but the numbers just don't add up.

We've had 5090 3d mark benches leaked ok and it's 22% faster than the 4090.

The 5090 has 21k cores
4090 has 16k cores
5080 has 10k cores

And benchmarks shows the 5090 is 22% faster than 4090. So an amazing new architecture right and 5k more cores and it's good for 22%.

So explain how a 6k core deficit on the 5080 is gonna help it beat the 4090. The way I see it, if the 5080 was going to beat the 4090, then logically the 5090 should be absolutely wiping the floor and beating the 4090 by 80%, not just scraping past it

Could it be the drivers were not ready? In any case I think we need more than one data set. I find it hard to believe that the 5090 has all it has and only achieves 22% uplift, because the power alone is increased massively.

Exactamundo!

I think the 20-25% uplift for the 5090 is conservative, based on stats. Once the final drivers/products are tested I think (hope) it'll be more like 50%. The 5080 will be around 70-80% of 4090 speeds.

I guess we will see soon enough about the uplifts of both cards.

I love the design of the FE apart from that angled connector. Makes the build look no where near as neat.

Same... I have my cable come from under the card. It will look messy coming from the side.
If I upgrade (doubtful, but tempting), I'll need to bring it from the bottom and then have it twist, but I'm a bit on edge about this because of the previous 16pin issues. I know they sorted that, but twisting it still makes me feel uneasy

Maybe cablemod will sell a 45° cable for it so it comes out the front again ;)
On the PC world video the product manager insists the cable can be tucked under neatly for cable management "freaks" like himself lol. Just strange every setup at CES has had it like this.

Also the LED is under NDA as to if its addressable... I guess that's a good sign? lol.
