NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

This actually made me laugh but I don’t understand the FSR meme. Granted I haven’t used it since I owned a 6800xt what am I missing that I see so many FSR memes

Many of us think that FSR is (or at least, was) poo compared to DLSS.

I’m sure there are other examples, but the one I think most of us experienced was in the Resident Evil 4 remake, which only has FSR 2 unless you mod in DLSS. Even using janky mod, DLSS was much, much better. Even I was like… daymmmn. Dat fuzz!

Not sure how it’s improved recently!

Have you guys with 9800X3D and 4090's managed to find emotional support for just scraping by with gaming? & how your 9800x3D's are super bottle necked & you can't possibly play any game ever until your 5090 turns up :( - I bet its taken you guys 10 mins to read this given its taken 5 minutes per line for that slow PC to render this text :p

I wonder how many just like having an absurd PC for fun vs ACTUALLY playing any game for longer than an hour or 2 per day lol

what is this "fun" you speak of?

OCUK is my support network. I am surviving on this thread alone.

I have also completely stopped playing any games at all now. Haven't touched one since the announcement. Why would I bother when in a few weeks time I can play them with another 100ms input latency?

Oh it's much like those people who have a sportscar they keep in storage for 11 months and then might use it for a cheeky hour or so a few times a year.

But its good for you, you will like it, and you'll pay £2500 for it.

Besides, you can put the kettle on between frames.

You lot need to stop being so disingenious with your price figures. It's getting boring now.

With DLSS4, for every 'real' pound you spend, DLSS generates 3 additional 'fake' pounds.

Sure, the end result is £2500, but you only actually have to spend £675 to get there.

And with Reflex 2, there's barely any lag between wallet and retailer.

it's more like owner a supercar as a daily driver.

your still using it all the time, you might only have the odd track day.

Can't you just rent a 5090 on GeForce Now if you only want to take it out a couple of times a year ? All the fun without the effort - Ya know, like those ladies you can go see when the wife isn't putting out :eek:

Legit played an hour or two of Chess last night then some Vampire Survivors...

Some I just like to watch the fans spin.

Also, has anyone taken a trip down memory lane with old 3dMark benchmarks? 3dMark 2001SE on a 4090/9800x3d is wild :D

how is frame gen or dlss graphical fidelity? it's the opposite.
oh wait I lied I hadn't seen this image yet

I'm guessing the Men characters will have beards and make up, after nvidia uses the power of AI

it's going to get to the point where all game characters are basically AI memes... like when AI is asked to create a photo of Vikings and it creates Rastafarian Vikings, from when Scandinavia was an African colony.

I built my current system to maximise (minimise?) system latency, to increase my speed of ordering the 5090 on launch day.

They just based an absolutely massive portion of their pitch on frame gen. I think it's safe to say it's the future.
Consumers will decide if it's the future. At the moment many people on social media aren't convinced, and NVIDIA's shares took a a tumble after the CES announcement.

The following is in general and not competitive fps pov. As mentioned by someone else, I'm intrigued to see how mfg works with a high base framerate, say 150fps running with fg at 360-480hz. I'm under no illusion that it would be as good as native 360-480, but am very intrigued how much difference it can make for high hz screens in games with a high base to start with.
