NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

I feel it's a cheat sheet to make Nvidia etc lazy to implement raw power performances.

Also makes devs lazy to optimise there code...

There was a big piece regarding UE5 by amsond that highlights how lots of game devs don't bother optimising there work and instead just rely upon us using crap like frame gen
Agreed this is a concern. I can't do anything about that though so I'll just switch on that frame gen and pretend it's fine.

I guess we will see soon enough about the uplifts of both cards.

I love the design of the FE apart from that angled connector. Makes the build look no where near as neat.

I think the FE card looks great too .I wonder if there will be much stock on release day ?

If nVidia don’t I suspect someone else would. At the most basic level, assuming it's an interconnect and not programmed otherwise, it's just a PCB containing I/O and a PCI-E connector built to a known standard and a connecting cable. Sure, nVidia could make it super propitiatory but from a complexity and performance point of view I would expect it to be an interconnect only.
The connectors are shown on this video
plus he mentions the size of the 2 daughter boards

The FE cards physical design is the only impressive and interesting thing about this entire generation

Creating a card that uses 3 seperate PCBs, placed in locations that can maximise fan airflow, reduce required static pressure and noise and then slap two huge fans that blow straight through a small heatsink out the back of the card

Silly questions get silly answers.
Hey I'm just doing a survey for the government, they've been planning to build a new data center, but with this overwhelming enthusiasm for AI gaming chips they're willing to divert those cards to prevent a peasant revolt. Four times the frames, four times more distracted from the current realities, amirite.

The design looks and sounds great especially with the 10 heat pipes. Very interested to see actual benchmark and thermal tests to compare their 2 slots design with an AIBs 4 slot.
Also having less weight and a smaller PCB will hopefully mean that it's less likely to bend as I've heard of previous generations having bending issues, and have damaged the cards.

I'm all for the latest tech etc but IF the 5090 leaked benchmarks are true at around 25% Any 4090 owner would have to be daft to trade a 4090 for a 5090 unless money is no object.

I think some are forgetting just because Mr Huang said 2000 US dollars that does not mean it will translate here, It potentially could be more like £2200 plus for an AIB, I wonder how many think that 25% uplift is then worth it for a £700 increase, I guess some don't care and neither do retailers or Nvidia if they sell and Nvidia certainly couldn't care less if they sell or not as they are making far too much £££ on AI accelerators to not give 2 hoots what gamers think lol.

After all Jensen is such a die hard gamer that he doesn't even know what manufacturers parts are even on his beloved gaming GPU ( Cough ) it's Samsung Vram Mr Huang not Micron haha.

Anyway as one video pointed out don't be silly and panic sell your 4090 because you will more than likely get buyers remorse.

I wonder how many bought 2080ti from the 1080ti lol.

I guess what I am trying to say is lets see how easy it is to get a 5090 this time around compared to the last few gens, If benchmarks are true and the price is horrendous as it it looking then I am willing to place bets now should retailers get the same amount as stock as previous releases that there will be 5090s in stock even for a while after with no real problem in acquiring one as I suspect most clued up users won't go near it if they have a 4090.

That’s just the 4090 owners welcome to all the older cards people are upgrading from. A much bigger audience than 4090 owners.
exactly, all the negative comments seem to be coming from 4090 owners. Going from a 3090 it’s a 90-120% jump so that’s what I’ll be doing. Then I won’t upgrade to a 6090 but I won’t sit there on forums comparing about the 30% difference

So what are the top 3 games you're looking forward to trying with the DLSS4+MFG combo?
I'm not sold on the MFG but I haven't played cyberpunk at all so that could be interesting.

Final fantasy remake part 2 should be compatible, or you should be able to override for it to use the new DLSS, doubt it'll need the MFG.

I'm looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds which releases soon, and that might need the MFG lol.

I've played a bit of PoE2 but that's too much stress for my poor Vega64 so getting to run that decently should be good.
Also I've only ran the benchmark for RDR2 so far on V64 where the 1% lows were 30fps and it looked stuttery, so upgrading should greatly improve the experience.

No idea what other games I'm looking forward to that will release this year really, maybe the Witcher 4.
I've seen a bunch of games I'm not interested in for various reasons though.

Solid bait going on there lol

exactly, all the negative comments seem to be coming from 4090 owners.

Are some of you actually paying attention to the commentary from proper outlets and reviewers, all of the MFG hands on so far has been from the 5090 with from what I recall only one from a 5080, none from the 5070, do you honestly think a 5070 is going to have the input latency of a 5080 ot 5090 to deliver a suitable experience? All of the videos so far show that there is an average of 7ms increase in input latency on a 5090, no lower end 40 series card gets a baseline input latency that's desirable to run higher end games with frame gen at higher settings/res, you need a 4080 class or above for that otherwise you experience a lot of input latency which is where all the frame gen hate stems from.

Nothing with MFG changes that. The more powerful the base performance of the new cards,m the better the MFG experience will be. That's just how it is and i think Jensen's coining of that now infamous phrase on stage has clouded your eyes.
