Actually it's 18% more expensive comparing launch MSRPs (£1649/£1939) so that's 10% more bang-for-buck (1.3 / 1.18) but yes your point is well taken
Yeah but it's a £2000 minimum. Based on price alone it's a disaster for pc gaming in general. It could have double the power and it would still be a disaster.Well the 30%-ish may not be the whole story. With memory bandwidth up 78% and possibly a similar increase in RT performance, the jump could be significantly more in RT heavy titles at 4K resolution.
4090 FE was £1699 at launch , i know the price did drop eventually but was £1699 at launch not £1649Actually it's 18% more expensive comparing launch MSRPs (£1649/£1939) so that's 10% more bang-for-buck (1.3 / 1.18) but yes your point is well taken
Given the way the pound is behaving, that £1939 could soon turn to £1999….4090 FE was £1699 at launch , i know the price did drop eventually but was £1699 at launch not £1649
What about in your bathroom mirror?I really don't want to see skinny pasty nerds on my youtube feeds.
Absolutely right on there. A paltry 5% improvement in price/performance which, without doing the math, must be literally the worst of any generation ever. Oof.30% is ok on the face of it but don’t forget these cost 25% more so in real terms it’s a 5% bump in price to performance.
Probably the worse in terms of the top card although the 1080ti > 2080ti was also very underwhelming.Absolutely right on there. A paltry 5% improvement in price/performance which, without doing the math, must be literally the worst of any generation ever. Oof.
In hindsight 2080ti was the worst upgrade I ever made.Probably the worse in terms of the top card although the 1080ti > 2080ti was also very underwhelming.
I mean, at least you could say that the 2080 Ti introduced some meaningful new features. DLSS support alone eventually gave it a big win over the 1080 Ti, even if it wasn't that way at launch since early DLSS was terrible. All we're getting this time is a slight improvement to an existing feature that was of arguable value in the first place.Probably the worse in terms of the top card although the 1080ti > 2080ti was also very underwhelming.
Careful. You’re going to trigger some people posting DF+Nvidia content.
30% uplift thats only with RT
no one knows the traditional rasterization uplift yet

The only 1999 I want to see when it comes to graphics cards is the year. $300 for a DDR GeForce 256, and I was playing games with an integrated ATi Rage Pro that used 8MB of the system RAM, and couldn't have been happier...Given the way the pound is behaving, that £1939 could soon turn to £1999….
Help us AMntel, you're our only hope! And yes, they should combine, because Arc needs a ridiculous X3D CPU to perform it's best.
In all honesty I don't know what some people expected, I mean it's so obvious to see when it's on the same node, Can't expect miracles when the tech isn't there, The reason the leap was the biggest I've known from 3090 to the 4090 is because the process node literally halved from 8-10nm I think it was on the 3090.I think it's very clear that the 5xxx series is aimed at those on 3xxx or below GPU's, for NVidia anyone on a 4xxx series upgrading is simply a bonus. I'd say even those on the 3xxx series want to consider if they need to upgrade, if the games they play are at acceptable framerates with almost everything on max settings then I'd strongly consider holding off.
I do wonder if the 5xxx series might be short lived and we'll end up with 6xxx series sooner than expected, there are rumours circulating of them bringing the launch forward although these seems more likely with the ranges intended for datacenters.
new benchmarks not sure if it was already posted
Rasta performance?New Nvidia benchmarks claims:
5090 is 30% faster than 4090
5080 is 15% faster than 5080
5070 is 20% faster than 4070
