One tiiiiny detail - 8bit machines are real time machines, no Windows, no multi-tasking, there's near 0ms latency on them, especially with CRT. Even without DLSS etc. in modern games you have already MUCH higher latency than back on these consoles. This is why emulated Mario (and other games requiring precision) usually feels SO much worse than on the real thing, if you have 2 to compare side by side. A lot of that is also about the monitor's electronics itself which adds a bunch of latency these days too, comparing to good old CRT.I come from 8bit cartridge console games where everythingwas crap. 50ms latency really is not that bad imo.
The problem is, 5000 series is just the inception of fake frames, it's only going to get worse from here on

That's not how it goes. With Reflex 2 you'd probably be rather close to the real deal.60 FPS is 16.7ms. 6.9ms for 144, and 4.1ms for 240Hz, FG at 240 with a 60 base fps will be around 20ms so almost a 5x increase in latency than running native 240hz.
Did you pop into McDonalds while you waited for it to be tested? That's what I do lol.£1008 cash it was the Zotac AIRO extreme
Reflex 2 is said to be used only in very fast online games where latency matters more than anything, as it creates too many issues/artefacts to use in normal games where quality of image matters more. At least that's what I've seen/read in few different places, but time will tell. That's not how it goes. With Reflex 2 you'd probably be rather close to the real deal.
A 5080. If no luck a 4090 with some warranty and failing that have a look at what 9070XT offersWhat model is everyone actually planning on buying?
This thread is dominated in debate on what is best, what isnt, fake frames blah blah.. but just genuninely curious on what people plan on buying and the variance in models as its mainly dominated with 5090 talk.

It's only going to be in 2 games so far - since it's not in their beloved CyberPunk yet, I doubt it's easy to implement, and they already have "100+" games with Reflex 1 that aren't automatically getting upgraded. That's not how it goes. With Reflex 2 you'd probably be rather close to the real deal.
This is pure gold

Crazy how you sell before getting your hands on the card lol, if I did that I can imagine myself being stuck on my integrated gpu for months£1008 cash it was the Zotac AIRO extreme
Damn I thought I was sensitive to coil whine lol“Sometimes when I use fake frames… my dead wife appears to me as a train.”
All in for a 5090 but there simply isn’t the info to know which is the best pick for me.
Number 1 priority is for no coil whine / annoying fan noise, so whichever delivers that wins. I hate hate hate hate hate coil whine… but then I’m the sort of sensitive sausage that is very affected and distracted by odd chittering noises - it’s just how my brain is wired.
In hotel rooms, fridges and TVs get unplugged. Yes, really.
5090 FE (Ideally in the first 3-4 months of launch), pending power usage. If it needs 550-575w to actually hit that 30% raster improvement over the 4090, which runs nicely at 300-350w, then i won't bother I don't think. He says, until the FE is in stock on some random rainy Tuesday in May and I ******* buy it anyway. What model is everyone actually planning on buying?

I'm eyeing up a Palit 5090 paired with a Heatkiller water block (looks like the EK 3090 special edition blocks). BUT if a FE block is announced for around release that would be first choice. Also depends what power limits are and if there is any benefit. What model is everyone actually planning on buying?
