weird why did videocardz say it was ray tracing when googling it says it's not.

Just noticed this. For the first time in my life I have the means to buy a brand new flagship card, rather than 2nd hand. Have a great 4090 Strix LC. Head over 'heart'? It's not sensible to 'upgrade', many on this forum know this, but are we going to 'try' anyway...? FOMO?

46% in RT, which is the majority of AAA games you'd buy a 5090 for.

4090 has more headroom.

Those 3Dmark scores on the 4090 are based on a 450W limit where it can go up to 600W on the FE and AIBs.
5090 is 575W base where max is limited to 600W confirmed by AIBs.

No need to get defensive.

IIRC Speedway is mesh shaders and rt. So for future games that's probably the one to take notice of. I wonder where the 5080 will slot in?

this time round reviews are gonna be interesting, performance will dependent on what you use, resolution, rt on off, dlss enabled, then performance vs quality etc etc.

The amount of Watts the high end use is a tad concerning, I'm sure a 600W GPU would have been considered a bit of a joke back in the day. What happened to the days of more performance in a lower power envelope? 600 Watt!! Over £2000, Crazy times..

RT and the accompanying technologies is where the performance is. We can see that because the biggest bump in hardware is in the ai tops performance.

So you're focusing on the wrong thing.

Once people see how much better it is at RT all this raster comparisons will get forgotten.

Let's just guess something like 20% rasta + 50% RT performance improvement.

Suddenly those games that are hard to run like Black Myth Wukong amaze as they run so much better now on the 5000 series.
