NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

I'm currently using a 240HZ monitor. So for 3X, it'd be limited to 80 fps base framerate and at 4x, it'd be 60 fps base.

I'm wondering how that'd compare to the 4090 doing 2x but with a higher base framerate like 90-100.
The higher base fps experience will always feel better because the latency is lower, so even if you're pulling MFG 240fps, the 120fps version with lower FG will feel better at 2x FG because the base fps is higher thus the frame latency is lower.

As HUB said, 60fps to 240fps MFG will still feel like 60fps.

Well one is AI tensor core frame gen attempting to create new frames (to varying degrees of success), whilst other other is just interpolation.

Why do you think AMD have now jumped on Ai based FSR? Repeating frames is very easy, but genuinely adding visual smoothness and quality of very different.

What do you think is really happening here with no special frame generation architecture?

When it comes to image quality even the most discerning of Youtubers weren't calling out FSR frame gen over DLSS3.

I 100% agree that upscaling resolution (the traditional roles of FSR and DLSS) massively favours DLSS as it stands. However, seems tacking on frame gen as a hardware DLSS AI feature hasn't worked out well for NVidia so far.

I see they are still using the same thermal pads used in 30 series I think even before that, changing the pads on 3080 drastically lowered memory temps

Have you watched the vids posted on this? It now works differently and there is not the same sort of latency increases.
I've watched several reviews covering it, but not any specific DLSS4 MFG videos (Will watch the DF video shortly). But it doesn't matter how much smoother MFG (4x) DLSS looks over 2x FG as the latency is not improved. Unless the latency penalty is removed, i will never use frame gen aside from MSFS where there is virtually noticeable impact due to how slow pace the game is.

Edit: Thanks. I'll try the new version. Think it is only in CP2077 so far.

Not if you post it back as a gift
I've not tried anything like this before so... assuming they honor warranty outside of the country you purchase it from, I guess the next question would be if they want you to send it back to country of purchase in case of a warranty claim or if you can send it to a more local one. Depending on the price difference, and how lucky you are feeling in with regards to needing a warranty claim in the future, someone might be more inclined to just pay the extra and buy it in the UK instead for more "peace of mind."

When will 5080 AIB reviews be posted? And just so I’m correct the 5080 is meant to fit in as better than 4080 super but worse than the 4090 or are they usually on par with 4090 historically?
