NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

Alleged GeForce RTX 5080 3DMark leak: 15% faster than RTX 4080 SUPER

Exciting! and only a grand and a huge 16GB.

first time a next gen 80 series gpu does not beat last gen's 90 series

Someone with more knowledge can comment from a technical perspective, but if you are used to 50-70% perf increase each generation and that suddenly drops to 30%, it’s going to be unpleasant. Simple as that. CPUs have always had lower uplifts each generation.
I guess i get that but Nvidia have openily said its getting harder to imnprove raw performance which is kind of backed up by the fact AMD have not even bothered with a high end card this generation and Intel are stuck in teh low end. I think thsi will be the new norm.

Not only that but this kind of technology will come to the consoles too eventually.

Sony and Microsoft will develop their own solutions.

I do think you need to add a bit of sharpness back to the image from an upscale otherwise it looks good but not as good as native IMO. Obviously too much as it goes beyond that and adds "detail" that's not meant to be there.
No, of course, it's getting too soft otherwise. But not as much with new model as with older model - it looks closer to native when comparing both and the old model looks much more blurry.

The current Xbox probably won't get it but the new Xbox handheld probably will have frame generation. And Sony can bring frame generation easily to the ps5 pro

DLSS4 image quality evaluation; Nvidia's new tech is years ahead of FSR3 and PSSR

Without negating the improvement in any way, it's still far from perfect, even if improved a lot. That said, also I had to for years read how DLSS 2 (and then DLSS 3) is better than native 4k with quality, which has always been a total rubbish. And even DLSS 4 still isn't - as now most reviewers started to finally show all kinds of problems when comparing both models, that were present in previous one, including NVIDIA themselves. :)

Nobody is talking about the hazards now with all these sections of components blasting out such temps...

Man those were the god old days, where almost anyone could afford a new 70 series GPU and get very high performance
All Nvidia is doing these days is causing games to stagnate. If a 70 class card was able to reach the performance of the best of the previous generation or close to it for a good price like we used to get, then far more could afford it, and as a result of many more people owning fast cards, we then get better looking games.

Unfortunately, cards, even mid-range ones, are becoming so expensive that people aren't upgrading like they used to and it sucks for everyone.

Actually several reviews I've seen mentioned this issue and one showed the connection reaching 80c

Nvidia claims it's not an issue

But I think we may see more burnt cards
