This I've never understood. We live in a world where cloud allows for elasticity.

Companies can scale in real time.

Why make things easier for the consumer when you know they're all going to sell anyway. Just inject more FOMO as people time out and are forced to come back again and again to try and snap one up.

Seems like theres still a significant amount of people buying these lemons of a gpu this gen. Good upgrade for anyone coming from 2000 and 3000 series i guess. 2k for the 5090 is sore though and probably 2.2k for AIB models with Asus topping the chart at 3k.
When life gives you 5080's then you make....errmmmm I can't think anything positive to put a spin on it....

Weird 5080 performance aka terrible. But then looking at price per frame average not that bad - my brain hurts :) Less power draw in games is something I guess.

I'm not upgrading for a while but some time in the future I'll move to 4K and was thinking of a 080 card, I think it'll either be second hand 4080 or wait 2 years and try again with a 6080.

I wonder if they're delaying the 5090 launch slightly to ease the pressure for 5080 sales. Considering we haven't seen prices and it's 5 mins to go.

"lemon" aka the fastest GPU in the world. No, it's not as big of a leap as other generations, but seen many people claiming the 5090 is "awful" when it's clearly not...
