NVidia 6200 series or 7300 series ?

I'm after a cheap basic PCI-E card, not for gaming. Was about to settle on a 6200 turbocache card, but then saw the 7300 series for just a little bit more. What does the 7300 bring to the table for the extra money?
 
Do you know if a 256MB 7300 card automatically takes an extra 256MB main system RAM all the time, or only as much as it needs to from time to time ?
