Hey guys just bought this card today,

I just went to over clock it and something has crept up...

Apparently you can soft mod the card to a 6800...?

Ive just installed Riva tuner and im lost lol. Its a beautiful card and only cost me 25 quid :D

Ive read that this card can out run most others including a stock 6800 gts :O

Anyway any help would be appreciated :)

I'm pretty sure that the 6200 is far inferior to the 6800. It's almost a totally different card... with different GPU and memory bandwidth etc...

You can unlock the extra pipes on a 6800 in most cases to make it into a 6800 Ultra though.
 
Ah ok but it does say on the internet and tehres instructions on how to do *** following;

1) Unlock the extra pipes
2) Overclock it

The one problem is im a newb with Rivatuner....

Any1 know of any tutorials

Some early models of the 6200 were speed binned from 6600 parts.

The 6200 nor the 6600 can be modded to a 6800 though.

Work it out for yourself with that attitude. You'll be trying for a long time to convert your 6200 into a 6800 though.

Sorry by the way the comment about being a newb was directed at me! Not at you guys. I have nothing but good words to say about the OC community believe me, they have got me out of a lot of ****

Any way i've kind of figured it out now,
