Is it worth to spend the little extra money for the 660ti it's like £40+ extra than the 660?
Also i see that the 660ti is also the same price as a 7950 could someone tell me what's better for the money.
No fanboyism please!

Cpu spec and overclock please? What res do you game at?

Not worth the extra for the 660ti imo. Either go for the 660 or step up to the 670. The 660ti is a good card, but unfortunately it's about the most poorly priced mainstream gpu there is. The 7950 is more comparable to the 670. I'd choose the 7950 over a 660ti every time.

It's for my brothers build,I've purchased him a i5 3570k going overclock it to 4.2-4.5 GHZ and at 1920x1080 Also i ment i can get a asus 660ti for £217 so is that a more reasonable price point?

Still to expensive really, for that sort of price id stick with the normal 660. I had one and found it to be a very capable card. Theres some benchines in the GFX card forum that I did comparing it to my old 680 and new 7950.

7870XT is the card id choose now tho :) Comes with a couple of decent games as well.

I bought a 660 when they were in the 150 pound price region and at that money there an excellent buy. But hey seem to have shot up to the 180 pound price point which I just don't think is worth it compared to shelling out more for a 670.

However I notice overclockers have a standard 660 on sale for 156 this week only. It's not quite as good as the twin frozr version I picked up from the looks of things but its a nice price point.

Yes, that is a more reasonable price, for a 660ti. I will also add that the 192 bit memory bus on the 660 / 660ti cards does hamper them somewhat when high levels of AA are applied, though I doubt that will be a major issue at 1080p and providing one doesn't expect 8 x MSAA in all games.

Here's a rough comparison of the 660 and 660ti. Don't forget drivers will have improved since then, but in theory it shouldn't favour one more than the other by much, if at all.

The 7870XT is also a very good shout. :)

If going a bit more expensive I would certainly suggest the 7950 over the 660ti. It's the same speed as/slightly faster than a 670, and you're getting for 660ti money.

If you're looking a 660, it is a far more competitive card, around the same price as a 7850 and stock performance that is generally speaking between the level of the 7850 and 7870 (although the 7850 will be faster when both are overclocked).

660 or 670/7950/7870XT.

7950 and 670 are the same speed when both are clocked up (average OC).

660Ti is terrible value for money. Considering you can get a 7870XT for £200 which is faster than a 660Ti in every department... and the 660Ti is not very future proof either...
