As the title says my 6800GT is dead :( i want to replace it with a card at least as good but for as little money as posable #

You see i have an Xbox 360 for gaming and wont really use my PC that much for gaming anymore, however i still will play the odd PC game now and then hence why i still want the same or better power then my dead 6800GT.

I dont care who makes it ATi Nvidia etc but the quieter and cheeper the better

Thanks in advance

i would say something like any 7600GT (leadteks overclock very well) or HIS X1800GTO, there good clockers, especially with a small voltage increase to core/memory, the X1800GTO is around £140 and the 7600GT is around £130

Few questions is a ATI Radeon X850PRO better then my 6800GT?

And what is better between a X850PRO and a 7800GS is there much difference?

Between those two I would go for the NVidia 7800GS due to newer shaders and generally newer technology. As for speed I owned a 7800GT and it played all games like battlefield 2 etc fine where as my X800 Pro struggled. I know this is not a comparison of the exact cards but just to give you an idea.

Hope this helps and I am no fan boy, Will just go for whatever is best value for money at the time.

AGP i take it.

X850Pro is about the same speed as the 6800GT (also X800XL or 6800GS).
7800GS is about the same speed as the 6800Ultra (aslo X850XT, X800XT).

and in some cases its slower than a GT.

I would say ditch the AGP motherboard and get a 7600GT/X1800GTO/X1900GT and leaveit at that.

I wouldn't pour that ammount of money towards an agp card.
Best bet would be to get a new mobo and a 7600 GT

nothing can beat it at the price of 117!

This is the card i am looking at TAKE A LOOK I can get it for £149 inc P&P surley this is the better option then upgrading my motherbord and going for PCI Express remember i am on a budget and wont be using my PC for that much gaming

Thanks again for everyones help

i still want to be able to play the odd game now and then games like LOTRBFME 2 thease games are just better on the Pc and always will be and besides what the point of getting a worse card then i already had? i am trying to get a replacment not an upgrade but if i can get both for a good price then thats great
