Neither as old tech's not worth buying now, and Nvidia's Dx10 Mid-Range cards are supposedly coming out 17th April (8600's), so you could get one of those. :)

You say this, then you say no one buys the cards for DX10, which is it.

Spending 115 on a DX9 card now when the 8600 series is minutes away is crazy!
No it isnt. If your attitude prevailed, nobody would buy anything and hardware would be twice as expensive.

Plus there are no DX10 games out, so who gives a toss?

Just buy the best thing you can afford. It really is that simple.

8600's will come in at around 135.

DX10 is irrelevant.

But the 8600 won't be much if at all better than them anyway.

I think a 8600 will be faster than a 7900 GT or x1950 pro.

The benchies confirm this.

"As promised, we will provide you some glimpse on the performance of the upcoming GeForce 8600 GTS and 8600 GT graphics cards. On a Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor, GeForce 8600 GTS scored a pretty impressive 5,7xx pts in 3DMark06 which is slightly faster than the 7950GT while 8600 GT churned out 4,7xx pts in 3DMark06 overshadowing a 7900GS. It seems that a 128-bit memory interface is not stopping 8600 series from churning out some nice performance."

Old tech V new tech?

Erm I think I'll waste my money on old gen tech cause I can't wait a week or two!

Priceless :p
