Nvidia 7950GX2

I have been offered an 7950GX2 for free, as my mate is buying a new card. There is only one slight issue as a capacitor has broken off, and will need soldering back on. Hopefully this won't affect the card working?

I am going to give this card to new nephew, but wanted to know if the GX2 is going to be better than the card he is running with now. Its an Ati X1950XT.

Will he be better off with the GX2, or staying put with what he has got now???

The GX2 will be far better than the X1950XT if the game you are playing works well with SLI...otherwise the X1950 will be faster.

As far as the capacitor, you will need to replace it. I would not recommend just shorting it. Do you know which capacitor in particular?

I am not getting the card till later on this weekend. As soon as I get the card I'll let you know.

get it, then sell it and get a series 8 card with a little extra cash

I already have an 8800GT, am happy with that for the time being, might keep the GX2, and use it in my backup system. Depending on the state with the capacitor.
