nVidia 8800 GTX benchies @ DailyTech

'Having two SLI bridge connectors onboard may possibly allow users to equip systems with three G80 GeForce 8800 series graphics cards. With two SLI bridge connectors, three cards can be connected without any troubles. NVIDIA is expected to announce its nForce 680i SLI and 650i SLI chipsets with the GeForce 8800 series. NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI and 650i SLI based motherboards are expected to have three PCI Express x16 slots.'

That will be quite interesting. I would like to see the performance of that with a QX6700.

Very fishy those as i said in the G80 thread, look at Quake 4, 16x12 only 65fps, yet when you look at the GX2 thats doing over 130, only 88fps in Prey, GX2 gets about 116+.

I always thought GX2 is so powerful with 2 cards slapped together as one (dont go down that route plz) and its gonna be difficult for Nvidia to best themselves!

Possible the GX2 may still proove a faster option in some games, not bad considering looking around u can grab a GX2 for £330 either.

But obviously IQ/Features plays a part as well !

My SLI'd 6800 Ultras easily managed that sort of FPS at that rez!
Was only running 2xAA but was running 16xAF.

Something's rotten in Denmark!

The G80's all about weird non power of 2 numbers. :D

Nice benchmarks, does look like a good performance to me. When LoadsaMoney gets one he can give us some benchmarks and make us more jealous :p

Im not getting a one, sticking with my x1800 XT as it cuts through everything just fine, and Dx10 is about a year away, sorry new gen brigade, ill go wash my mouth out with soap now. :(

lol ok. I will wait for someone else to post them. So I guess you are saying what you are saying to avoid attacks? Pretty harsh.

Yes, its all in the other thread about the G80, best to give in to them im afraid. :(

Guru3D.com has a lot of reviews, and if you look at the following link you'll see some benchmarks for the 7900 GTX and similar cards. Please note the first set of Q4 benchmarks are w/o AA, the proceding ones are 4X AA.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/content/340/10/

You can clearly see, as you'd expect, that these figures seem clearly off. In all fairness, the benchmarks by Guru3D and Daily might have used different versions at different times with different drives, and at different game moments, but surely such a vast difference would not occur. As such, I think these benchmarks are incorrect, for both the 8800 GTX and the X1950. I used ran the Q4 demo (obviously unpatched) with old drivers on my 6800 GT (w/ AMD 64 3200+ and 2 GB DDR400), a pretty un-optimised scenario, and ran it at 1600x1200 with 4AA and full graphical settings and managed a playble frame rate of around 30 on average.

Because I think these benchmarks are wrong, and I hope we can conclusively state this, it might be best for nVidia for someone to show more accurate benchmark results. In all honesty, I'd expect the Q4 results to be double that of what is currently stated. :)
