Yo

At home I have an Asus GeForce 8800 GTX HTDP 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) and wanted to SLI it so a) I can use more than 2 displays and b) for any extra graphics processing power it could offer.

When buying another card how close do I need to match the card if I want to SLI it?

For example if I tried doing it with an Asus GeForce 8800 Ultra HTDP 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail, would that work or not?

Cheers

I seem to remember Nvida wont let you SLI a 8800gtx with a ultra.

8800, SLI and multiple monitors can be a real headache BTW.

so whats the best way to do multiple displays (ie more than 2) with an 8800? Guessing if I wasnt going to SLI then would be best to just get any old card that didnt need to be massively powerful and just use that for the extra dvi ports?

as was only thinking SLI for performance increase as a secondary goal. main objective is to get more displays available
