You Guys are never going to believe this shizzle

All 8800GTX Cards Being Recalled
VR-Zone informs that all of the 8800GTX cards out in the channel are being recalled due to manufacturing defect. It is probably due to a resistor controlling 2D/3D switching and that leads to 3D corruption. However, the defect doesn't affect the 8800GTS cards. This issue probably could delay the launch, if not, there could be no availability of 8800GTX cards at launch but just GTS.

Well there goes the slick launch date they had planned!!

It doesn't matter that they are behind, they already have fast DX9 cards out already, as do Nvidia. :)

Its not like you can't go out this very minute and buy a fast DX9 card is it, the things are 10 a penny. :p

No one is buying a G80 for DX10 as its pointless, DX10 is not released till Jan/Feb, and theres nothing using it, and won't be for about a year from now, by which time G80/R600 are long gone, theres only FSX out now that can use DX10 when ran on a DX10 card and Vista (but looks identical to what it does on a DX9 card and XP), and Crysis is not now due till April, or after (which again looks identical to DX9 and runs under XP as well as you can see from the Crysis DX10 vids), so G80 is only a faster DX9 card in essence, that can also run 2x games in DX10 that look the same as DX9, no one is buying them for DX10 as said, its been said over and over again, its not about DX10. :)

G80 is only if you want the fastest DX9 card out there, which it will be by a country mile.

I am buying the g80 for dx10. So are some other people. I am also buying it for the new features and generally much better performance than my current 7900GTX. Enjoy your x1800xt but please leave us be. I am getting tired of your mindless rambling. You are not going to convince me otherwise to get a dx9 card now. If you think DX9 looks similar to DX10, you need a trip to specsavers. Ok? ;)

Im not trying to convince you to get a DX9 card, im just saying no one is buying it for DX10, we've had this before, its not about DX10 its going to be the fastest DX9 card out there as i said, i think you'll find i am not alone in saying that no one is buying them just for DX10, even the ppl who are getting them. :)

I don't need a trip to specsavers, if you think it looks different to DX9 then you do, check out the Crysis vids, everyone says its identical, so we all must need to go to specsavers, as i said im not telling you not to buy one, by all means buy one if you want as its a cracking card, all im saying is no one is buying them JUST for DX10 except you obvioulsy,as everyone else knows JUST for DX10 is pointless, everyone else is buying them to have the fastest DX9 card out there, nothing to do with DX10 at all as said. :)

If your only buying it soley for DX10, then why not wait until Vista and DX10 are released, then you can get a G80 for next to nothing as your not missng anything at all by waiting, as DX10 can't be used till its released anyway, and as you say thats the only reason your buying a one for, then again you could get the refresh.

Im getting the next gen card AFTER ati comes out with theirs, so i can have more choices then, dun wanna get 8800gtx and one month later, WOOP ati beats the crap outta it

Well my main reason for getting one is for running my 2 x Dell 24" screens at the highest resolutions with everything turned on. Neither SLi or Crossfire can run dual screens as far as I know.

When DX10 comes along I'll just see how it performs but by then the 8800GTX will no doubt be surpassed by something better.

Que sera sera ;)

Exactly, as i said no one is buying the G80 solely for DX10, buying the G80 JUST for DX10 is crazy, especially 4 months before its even released, R600 will be here then, and also the faster G80 refresher.

Your buying it for DX10. Ok. Do you know its fully compliant? Do you know it WORKS? How quick it is? How many games using DX10 that arn't DX9? 3/4 of these things WE DO NOT KNOW!

Sorry dude, but DX10 is no reason to buy a £500 quid card. Buying it for a quicker DX9 card is a more valid excuse...
