Ok i know there was a lot of talk about this a while back but has there been any solutions found for the serious stutering issues with full screen video playback in in VMC.
I have tryed all combinations of codec and filters but im at wits end, avi playback and H263 apauling, at the moment im using the latest DIVX and XVID codec the latest FFdshow and the Halli media splitter and the problem just doesnt seem to get any better. i dont want to resort to older drivers for my 8800gt as its used for gaming and dont want to sacrifice performance for media playback.
Im pretty stubburn on moving from using vista media center as i like a single solution for everything i use for media and i just like the way it feels and uses. is there any hope?

I think you'll find that it's an issue with ffdshow. I had this issue when I was using it. If you set the media center process in task manager (can't remember the exact name, google it) to single thread the problem goes away. There's hack for making it permanent too. I'll have a quick look for it for you.

To be honest I found that the quality is no better with ffdshow. The hardware acceleration on the 8800 series cards is better IMO.

Sorted says the fix is for quads but its worked a treat with my core 2 duo nice one my friend
