Hello,

I have a Acer Aspire laptop 7720G with the graphics card what is listed in the title above.

I cant seem to get the monitir on the laptop to work at all, I have installed new drivers from Nvidia, re-installed etc. Updated! everything.

The laptop will go to external display, sometimes it will flick back and forth, then settle down. I have set the parameters in the display setting, everything.

I kno this sounds silly, I left it switched on, on performance mode once, ontop of a bedding quilt, problem started there really.

I thought it would have overheated dramatically, but a friend said it cant be that, as the thing is working fine now, also it should have a facility that shuts it down if it gets too hot.

Personally, I disagree.

Can someone please shed some light onto this situation if they maybe be able to give me some insight to this problem???.

Many thanks,

Regards,

Craig.

Your description of what is wrong is a bitvery vague - so you're unlikely to get much help on these forums unless you elaborate a bit...

Do you have any output from the laptop TFT panel at all (i.e. can you see faint ghosting of valid display output or just pure black nothingness)?

sometimes it will flick back and forth
- Does that mean the external panel turns off and on occasionally? What does the laptop TFT panel do in the meantime...??

What happens if you use the laptop function key to switch the external display output off and on?
