How does this card fair against the current crop ?

I can get 1 for £128, might be worth it as its so cheap.

Can it keep up with 4850/4870/gtx 260 !?

Si

4850 faster with 8 aa 9800gtx+ faster with 4 aa in theory it means 4850 is faster.

u have to look at diferent factors size of the card power consumption etc etc i would go with 4850 + cooler

I'd go with the Radeon HD4850 instead, not necessarily on performance (they're near enough equal) but cooler, lower power, single slot and better HD video acceleration.

Just found a 1Gb version of the 9800GTX for £144 inc vat lol, surely thats gotta be the best bang for buck atm ?

Meh, scrap that its the 512mb version, didnt read thoroughly enough :/

I'd prefer a 9800GTX+ over a HD4850, performance is better in most situations, clocks better and comes with a half decent cooler.

The first statement appears to contradict quite a few review sites, te second and third are entirely subjective.

Considering a 4850 can be had for £120 delivered, I'd go with the Radeon.

I'd go for the 9800+. It runs very cool, overclocks well and has very mature drivers thanks to it being an evolution of the 8xxx cards and not a whole new design. Plus when was the last time you saw anyone post in here about one not working properly or not perfoming as it should...

Whereas you see those posts for the 48xx cards every day.

9800gtx+ definatly, espically at that price

i have the normal 9800GTX and it plays everything fine on my 22" monitor. Overclocks well, and i've never had any problems with the drivers etc, always been faultless

it's on par with a 4850, maybe just above it in overall performance

obv in ati games the 4850 wins, in nvidia games the gtx wins

myself, i'd go for the gtx

Nope, 9800GTX+ oftern beats the HD4850, it's just many users have the unfortunate habit of only seing what they want to see. ;)

No, it's not subjective, the cooler is better and it does overclock more, fact.
