NVidia 9800GX2 Power Connector Issue

ive just got my 9800gx2, now ive put it in and ive only got 2 6pin pci-e adapters coming off my psu.... the card asks for 1 6pin and a 8 pin.....

my previous card the ati hd2900 also asked for 1 6pin and a 8 pin, and that worked fine with 2 6pin adapters....

the 9800gx2 wont?

and suggestions?

Did you not get a 6pin to 8pin adapter?

Saw a BFG bundle with one.

The GX2 won't work with 2x 6pins... annoying but true from what i've heard.

the only adapter in the box was:

2x 4pin hdd/cdrom power to 1 6 pin gpu socket

the manual says i need a psu that has a 8pin gpu plug, but i cant find any psu with that. ive looked at the top end enermax 1000W Enermax EG1000EWLDXX V2 Galaxy Modular

that comes with :

1 x 3Pin Fan RPM
1 x 4+4pin CPU +12V
2 x 4pin ATX 12V
9 x 4pin Molex
2 x 6pin PCI-E Power
1 x 8pin CPU +12V
1 x FDD Power
7 x SATA Power

Don't you have any 6-8 pin leads from your PSU?

There isnt a way around it as far as I am aware, you will need to get an 8 pin to run the card.

ive got a 600w enermax and ive had it for quite a while! cant remeber getting a 8pin adapter!
