Hi Guys

I've got a 4850 and i'm sick of it for various reasons, drivers are crap.. doesnt run well in the game that I play most (not ATI's fault i know) so I want to change back to nvidia.

So, what would be the equivilant performace wise?

well surely if you got an Nvidia card of similar performance that too will be crap in games!!!!!

Why not just upgrade to an ATI 4870 or NV 260???

and what faults are there with the drivers? Someone here could help you sort it.
Both ATI and Nvidia have there faults.

I went from an Nvidia to ATI and am definitely not looking back

when I used ATI and got problem with driver so went back to Nvidia and used 2 x XFX GF 9600GT XXX as SLi with latest driver - no problem at all, it run prefect as very cool..

i did the same as you.fell for all the hype,my 4850 strugled in fallout3,with fps going in to the teens.
so i exchanged it for a palit 9800gtx+. £120 and it blows that 4850 away,

I've got the Gigabyte 1Gb 9800GTX+ and play Fallout 3 no probs. There are a lot of things I like about this card ie, zalman cooler(45C playing F3), shorter than all the other 9800GTX+'s, only one 6 pin pci-e power lead required etc, I could go on. I don't know why OC don't stock Gigabyte cards.:(

Not really, the particular game that I'm having problems with (DAoC) has issues with ATI, in an ideal world they would pull fingers from bums and sort it but its not to be hence me wanting to go back to Nvidia.

I think a 260 would be nice if i can raise the extra ££'s.

Does the 9800 do CUDA for some seti loving also?

9800 GTX+

Shop around and you can pick up one with a custom design for £130 delivered. I know because I just ordered one today :)

Seriously? I'd blame the rest of your set-up before the card.

My 4850 is the best card I have ever had, amazing for £100.

Fallout 3, 1680x1050, 4x AA, high everything else, never dips below 30fps.

Mirrors Edge, 1680x1050, Max everything, no physics, never dips below 40fps.

I have also had no issues with Mass Effect, Tomb Raider Underworld, The Witcher
