Fantastic, will be grabbing one of these for sure. This is what separates NVidia from the also-rans, they keep pushing, developing and actually bringing out technology to use.

This is going to fail badly; too spendy for a full streaming device when others are cheaper; playing either android games *oh joy* or old games.

They have to do something with the socs since they couldn't break into the mobile market....

Herrrrrrrrrre's the shill!!! :p

What took you so long!??? :D

I genuinely don't know if he's making a joke or not. He's so pro Nvidia everywhere usually without any concept of how gpus/anything gaming related works, but that is such a completely ridiculous post I honestly can't tell if he's taking the mick or is that delusional.

This is like the 432nd Android based tv box, and of them this is the like 80th that is for gaming.

As per usual with Nvidia the problem appears to be, THEY did all the work for Doom 3... and no one is going to want to play it now on their tv mostly because anyone anywhere who wanted to play Doom 3 has, a long time ago and could have streamed it to their tv with the magic that is known as..... putting a large tv near your computer. Or playing it on an actual console.

Seriously lets be clear, Doom 3 came out in 2004, the 360 came out in 2005 and this game was available early in 2005 on the 360. Only $200 for a device that can power the mighty Doom 3. Redefining gaming.... seriously? How about redefine TWIMTBP by not allowing your closest gaming partner in Ubisoft to release such utter turds with such awful stuttering and huge number of bugs and with graphics options removed/hidden.

5 years in the making for that? So you can play a game from 2004 hmm. The specs aren't impressive in the slightest either. 4k ready, is that the equivalent of HD ready? (waits for the Full 4k Ultra HD). 16gig of storage, really? In today's world of streaming services and games/photos/videos etc, I'd be wanting a lot more storage out of the box.

The market is already flooded with these devices.

Nvidiafail.

Holy sheep!

I was half-joking when I said "the future of gaming is console gaming" in the "Nvidia: what I want to share with you will redefine the future of gaming" thread...

Wish they would stick to graphics cards to be honest instead of claptrap ideas. That goes both for Nvidia and AMD.

Without wanting to put words in your mouth, I think you're really meaning to say you want confidence that pushing the boundaries of GPU technology should be their primary focus and shouldn't be impacted by side shows like this. However nVidia are an ambitious company and have to show their shareholders that they are trying to break into bigger markets. If they don't get a foothold elsewhere they might find that in 25 years their primary market is gone or has changed so dramatically that it's no long the money spinner that it was.

So nVidia HAVE to keep trying and keep looking for new revenue streams. All tech companies will be looking for the next ipod/iphone holy grail that will catapult them into the mega billions. Problem for nVidia is that this current product isn't going to change the future of gaming. Equally for something "5 years in the making" it's basically just a processor and some flash RAM in a box, running another company's OS. Samsung could have developed and marketed this in under 12 months.

Lol streaming isn't anything new. Playstation have had playstation tv
Steam just release a 50$ hub for this compatible with wide range of games and hardware.. You go right ahead and pay that premium. Lol

If this us nvidia game charger and they called it this, that is very disappointing was expecting something bigger. Like something completely new.

I will, and you seem annoyed that I want to, why ?
