Nvidia Auto Fan Shut Off / Power Consumption?

Hello,

I work from my main PC during the day (Work PC sits on a VM). The PC is therefore on all day doing comparatively little (emails / spreadsheets etc), but used for VR, video editing etc in the evening / weekends.
Once availability is sorted I'll be getting a 3060Ti or 3070, I'm sure I've read some of these auto shut off the fan when the GPU is doing very little...forgive the stupid question but is this a common feature, are cards with this function easily distinguished from those that haven't?

Based on the above any recommendations?
 
Yeah, almost all modern cards will shut off the fans at idle. It's usually just the really low end models that don't. The Founders Editions do though, which are the cheapest around and highly recommended. Hard to actually get your hands on one though due to the stock situation.
 
I have the 3060 Ti Founders Edition and can confirm that it has the 'fan stop' feature. The fan stays off until the temperature reaches around 50-60c.
