Nvidia control-panel colours not being remembered in windows 10?

Is there a fix for this?

I've adjusted my colours settings via the Nvidia control panel, yet every time a re-boot it reverts to what I assume are the windows 10 settings. It's driving me nuts.

I found a suggested remedy, that has you turn off WindowsColourSystem Task triggers at start-up, that hasn't helped. So I have set them back to "enabled"

I'm running the latest Drivers 399.24

Any suggestions?

Wouldn't you be better adjusting the colours on your monitor?

I've never had to tinker with the colours in the Nvidia control panel.

Maybe so, but I adjusted the "digital vibrance" a little and it improved things for me. To my eye's anyway. I just assumed as it's a fairly basic feature it would actually work, or someone else may have run into it before and found a fix.

Are you using an ICC profile?

I don't know if I had one initially. However I've just done a new calibration and there is one in place now. I also appear to have a profile for my monitor in the list. But that is a ".icm" file.

I'll have another play this evening.

Windows 10 wise I'm bang up to date. I've just reinstalled my Nvidia driver for about the 3rd time in the past couple of days. I have twigged it has been problematic in the past, I just assumed it was a historical thing and had now been resolved. It's not a disaster in any way if I can't get it to work. I thought I'd ask here as chances are someone's been down this path before.

This bug has been around for years with Nvidia drivers, mine does exactly the same thing, its something to do with the Nvidia display drivers loading your adjusted colours before the default Windows colour settings have a chance, so your adjusted colours will be visible for a second or so after booting, but then Windows will load its default colour profile back into memory, resetting any adjustment you've made in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Having had a bit of a read, that is what I suspected. Now I'm sure I calibrated the display via Windows colour management, but we are literally talking years back. Following Roff's pointer above I looked and couldn't see any previous ".icc, profile" I've spent 10 mins tweaking the colours and saved a new profile. I'm 99% there now with regards to how I like it setup, so I think I'll leave it be as it's good enough. No idea why I've not noticed it before, maybe because I only switched to Nvidia a few weeks back so not really fiddled until now.

Cheers all...:)

This issue is caused by the WindowsColorSystem scheduled task running at user logon. The NVIDIA driver hooks the user's logon and then applies the settings, however, the Microsoft scheduled task that initializes the Windows Color System runs just after and loads the default color profile for the monitor (timing issue). Since I prefer to use the driver manufacturers' control panels to manage my color settings, I disable the "Task Scheduler Library\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsColorSystem\Calibration Loader" task.

Yeah I had the same issue with nvidia when I switched last year the colours and gammer were wrong I tried fixing but it never saved.

I tried the fixes nothing worked.

I ended up having to change it all on my tv instead.
