nvidia control panel settings

Hi there I just recently got in to pc games and wondered if someone could suggest what things I should have switched on in the the nvidia control panel.

battlefield 3 is the game
msi 660ti is the card

I have a samsung led tv 60hz 1080p

I have switched on the adaptive vsync because I read good stuff about it but haven't changed anything else.

Also read good things about FXAA but not sure if I should put that on as well.

Yes I use a tv and a xbox controller and the tv is very low input lag 16ms.

Are you saying I can get rid of the screen tearing without using vsync? If so could you explain how I do it or send me a link.

FXAA reduces jaggies but makes text blurry

leave most options on default if you don't know what you're doing ;D some of them will cause frame rate to plummet.

On my last card 6series amd I just had everything on performance but I don't think it had half as many options as this card does.

Just really looking to see what things I can turn on to make the game look better without taking to much of a performance hit.

You wont get rid of it completely without vsync enabled but personally i'd rather take a small amount of tearing than input lag.

If you feel like your not getting input lag with vsync on, then leave it on m8

If I can reduce screen tearing without vsync it would mean I could have extra eye candy on.

So could you tell me the best way to reduce screen tearing without using vsync please.

I'm a bit of a noob could you explain how I limit the frame without vsync.

you can use MSI afterburner, it creates 2 icons in your taskbar next to the clock, one of a plane and the other of a plane with a red thing in the corner.

click the one with the red thing and then on the spanner icon that susequently appears, there is an option in there.

However....

Doing it from there seems to create more tearing than if you set the fps limiter in game.

For CS:GO you open console and type fps_max 120

For BF3 you create a file called User.cfg with the following text in it and put it in your BF3 install folder

gametime.maxvariablefps 91.00

I guess because I am on 60hz I use lower number like 50.00

That config file got rid of screen tearing.

Now I don't have to use vsync I can max out battlefield
