Nvidia control panel wont remember 3d settings

Just installed the latest drivers for vista and the 3d settings that you can specify for individual games wont save, anyone come across this problem before.
I read somewhere that it was to do with permissions on the nvapps.xml file but I have given users full control to this file but its not fixed.
Anyone else had this problem
