Bit of an odd one this. Has anyone else had an issue with the nVidia Control Panel being really slow?
I'm on Vista 32 HP with Opti 165 (2.2Ghz) and 2Gb of Ram, loads of space left on the HDD and an 8800GTX. I'm running the XG174.74 modded drivers so this could potentially be the problem.
When I right click the desktop and select the NCC it can take up to 20 seconds for it to load up and be useable. When I change profiles it can take about 10 seconds to give the 'do you accept the new settings' countdown. Sometimes it takes so long Vista put up the 'Not Responding' line in the header - it still works, I just have to leave it a bit longer.
So... perfectly stable, but really, really slow... apart from the modded drivers any ideas?
(I don't want to get into an ATi/nVidia driver bashing session so please keep to my issue - I just want to know if anyone else suffers with this and if there are any potential solutions.
