nvidia desktop manager, keeps resetting my desktop icons

i have a htpc with a nvidia 6800LE and use it on a pc monitor and a plasma, i often change between single display and dual view using profiles i have created. I like to scatter my icons about the desktop and group them and leave wee notes about but when i change to dual view and back my icons all arrange themselves own the left hand side of the desktop.

is it possible to set u the nvidia desktop manager or set something so it will keep my icons positioned where i left them, i have tried creating a desktop profile and saving it but this does not seem to help.
