Nvidia Driver - BSOD

Hmmm which driver and Geforce Experience versions you use now which tried to installed latest driver?

My previous driver 340.16 installed with Geforce Experience 16.13.42.0 was installed latest driver 344.48 fine without BSODs. The latest driver updated Geforce Experience to 16.13.56.0.

I guess maybe some of Geforce Experience files were corrupted, try to reinstall Geforce Experience or update it to latest version.

Hmmm something must be broke caused it to BSOD.

Try install driver 344.48 and ticked the clean installation option that will remove all trace of previous driver installation.

Are you using the quick installation? If so don't. Unchecking all the 3D stuff cured this problem for me.

Installing drivers has 99% of the time been painless for me, but every now and then, you get the odd driver which just makes itself a nuisance, so I use a program called DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). It puts your computer into safe mode and clears out all the drivers that could cause a confliction. Then download and install the latest drivers and you should be good to go.

About 4 or 5 drivers ago my geforce experience decided to BSOD hang while updating the driver after that it just hangs, So i just download it of Nvidia and instal that way.
When it bothers me enough i'll try DDU and redo it see if its solved
Side question can you just download and install the driver and skip installing Geforce experience at all ?

If that is an open question, you don't need to install Geforce Experience and just untick the box. I like it for ShadowPlay though, so keep it on and DSR (Which I am yet to really try out).

Had the same problem as triss described a few times. Now I just download drivers direct from the nv site. Still keep experience as I like messing about with the new dsr feature.

Thanks Greg I'l try and find time and do it this week coming up,DSR is turned on in Control panel not Experience so hopefully it will still work.

My own setup bsod a few times last night think it could be be heat related. Cleaned it out and also moved back to 344.11 and everything is find so far.
