Nvidia Driver Problem & BSOD

My PC has been frequently freezing for the last few weeks, a problem which I presumed was because the graphics card was dying. The GPU (8800GT) did indeed die last week and I've had it replaced only to find the freezing still occurs.

Occasionally the computer will BSOD rather than freeze and upon rebooting Windows says there was a problem with the Nvidia driver. I have used 3 different driver versions including the current latest over the time that these freezes have been happening.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and is there an official place to report problems to Nvidia for future patches?

Thanks

OS Vista SP2

Next time you see a blue screen jot down all the info it gives you, although if it specifically points the finger at the nvidia driver then it seems the likely culprit.

Have you got any overclocks going?

Nope none at all. I've been trying to get the blue screen info but my PC restarts itself within 3 seconds of it appearing and as it happens without warning I'm never prepared.

I was sure it must have been due to my graphics card failing but I guess that was just a complete coincidence.

Type system into the search box and click on the System link. Click the Advanced system settings link and locate the Startup and Recovery section near the bottom of the window and click on the Settings button. Now uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart ;)

Next time you get a BSOD you can note down what the error is.
