..For my 8800GTS 512

I play mainly COD4 and ET. Also sometimes I play HL2 and TF2.

I'm using XP 32bit.

Can some1 suggest a set of drivers that perform well that are really stable plz?

There are so many new sets out there atm, I don't know where to start. ATM I'm using the 174.74's

I do recall reading somewhere about some1 having problems with the VLC media player and vers 177.7x NVidia drivers, but not 100%

TIA

I've been using the 177.66's for a while now, and they have been rock solid for me. No BSOD, and a few other niggles now gone.

Another vote from me for these. They've been the first usable 17X.XXs, every other release prior to this (174.74, 175.19, 175.80, 177.41 and others) gave me nvlddmkm errors when running FSX at high res and ALT-Tabbing out of Crysis. I could duplicate the errors every time, at EXACTLY the same point, hence it was certainly the drivers that were to blame. Had to continually revert to 169.25 which, like 177.66, suffered no such issues.

From my personal experience the latest betas off the nVidia site (177.79 or thereabout) I found 177.39 to be good but 177.66 and some around there have a problem where they will randomly lockup after or throw up a nv kernel error. 175.xx seem to be stable but nowhere near as good performance as 177.xx.

Odd, I saw a 15% drop in frame rates with the 177.39's compared to the 175.75's. Granted, I am running a dual 8800m GTX. Giving the 177.79's a bash now :)

Dual 8800GT here - was the other way around for me lol going from 175.16 to 177.39 gave a ~15% increase in performance - don't think I tried 175.75 maybe they are faster still.

UT3 performance down 25-30%, GRiD performance up 40%, crysis down 10%, Mass Effect down 40%, UT2004 is crippled with stuttering and graphics glitches. Oh and overclocking is crippled. Back to the 175.75's for me.
