Hi guys,

I've been getting 'Nvidia Driver has stopped responding. Driver version....' errors recently. Especially when i use Photoshop CS5. I've updated the driver to the latest certified version and still get it now and then.

I've been told that it maybe cos my PSU is under powered so could anyone tell me if this could be the case? My system specs are

i5 750 OCd to 4GHz
8 gig RAM
Asus P7P55D
GTX275
1Tb Sata and 300Gb IDE
Sata DVD
Corsair TX650 PSU

I'm pretty the TX650W with 52A on the 12V rails, 24A on 3V and 30A on 5V is more than sufficient?

I've ran memtest to its fullest, Intel Burn test at high level and Prime 95 when i built the system and it passed, in fact i ran those test about 10 times and it was fine.

If anyone can offer some advice it would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Quyeno

Do you mean a full blue screen with that message? and you have to then restart the pc?

Your PSU should have plenty of power to support that system, what OS are you using? have you got a power draw device to plug into?

Found this to be interesting recently, the models they suggested using the calculator were lower in spec than what I expected.

Hi mate,

I'm using a legit copy of Win7 Pro 64Bit. I dont get a blue screen, teh screen goes blank then come back white. The program i'm using at the time will come back all white and once killed in Task manager, computer is fine. I'll restart the program and its fine again. I haven't got a power draw device.

I'm tempted to upgrade the BIOS and motherboard drivers but would prefer not too until i can track down teh problem. I do get blue screens from time to time but the mem dumps so fast i never get a chance to take down the reason. Apparently you can debug the mem dump file but i have no idea how.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try re-installing the drivers. It was happening to me a few weeks ago. So i did a full uninstall and after i re-installed them its been fine.

When you said "I've updated the driver to the latest certified version and still get it now and then." had you been using photoshop and whatever else stable with the driver you had already been using? the problems just came on without you changing anything?

maybe try a driver older than the driver you were using at first that caused the problems as it might be nvidia driver related.

updating bios and mobo drivers wouldn't hurt, although the bios usually have pretty specific fixes so might be worthwhile checking that beforehand - might not be worthwhile to bother.

Maybe this page will help?
