Guys everytime I do a driver update my shortcut boxes on my desktop screen get all messed up is there a way to stop this please so they stay where i put them?

Get yourself a free restore/save desktop icons program or find reg entries to create a right click on desktop option to restore.
 
Don't think there is anything you can do about it other than using 3rd party programs to save/restore the order - during the update the old driver is halted and removed from operation which causes the display to drop to a default (low) resolution during the process which messes up the desktop.
 
But why does it only happen in win10 no other windows ive used before it every did it they always stayed where they were placed?
 
Doesn't happen on my Windows 7 gaming machine for some reason but on another of my Windows 7 systems it does not sure what the rhyme or reason is.
 
Never had this happen on my windows 10 AMD GPU though.
I have had it happen though after leaving my monitor switched off for awhile upon switching back on my icons was all over the place.
