I was wondering if you could do a a paragraph just to explain how bad the overclocking has become with more recent drivers as I've seen quite a few people complain that overclocks are getting worse as newer drivers are coming out.

The main thing they are blocking in later drivers is custom bios with custom power limit and voltage. So regardless of Bios your power limit is stuck at Nvidia limit negating the effect of any extra voltage these custom offerings give you. Only way to get round this is hardmod or true XOC bios. Ideally both.

This is disgusting from Nvidia - kinda makes the whole point of owning/ using a high end card pointless, ok so not everybody likes to oc, but for those of us that do, it is a real slap in the face.

Where do we go from here though - any way of convincing them to stop doing this - or just use old drivers for benching?

Nvidia don't support overclocking passed there determined limits or do they want RMA cards caused by overclocking. Nor do they want a cheaper card beating a more expensive offering.

There cards are offering the best performance in games currently so they wish to tighten up on the possibility of RMA and the cost this brings with it. Nvidia care only about the gamer.

No one can really moan about this as Overclocking is extra Free Performance. Its not a given at all.

Yes use older drivers for benching now but these older drivers will be negated as faster drivers come in the future as everyone knows.
