hi all, really sorry for posting this if it has already been brought up but i cant find anything in search. anyway,

i have installed vista ultimate on a 2nd partition and all works fine until install the nvidia graphics drivers for my cards (8800 gtxs's) when i install them and reboot i get to the vista splash screen and then the monitor goes black and 'no signal' appears. i have tried numerous different releases of drivers but none seem to sort the problem at all. anyone got any ideas??

spec is

q6700 quadro extreme
2gb pc8500
8800gtx SLI'd
2 x 150g raptor
Sb fatality xtreme

many thanks

Sounds like they're putting the monitor into a resoloution or refresh rate it cannot handle. You could possibly booting into safe mode (continously tap F8 before the vista loading screen pops up, right after the BIOS POST), set the screen settings there and reboot.

i found out that the problem was using a dvi cable to connect my monitor. for some reason the nvidia drivers and vista dont send the correct information in the edid file which was stopping it working

so for anyone else with this prob, the quick fix is use a vga cable to connect your monitor to the pc :)
