Howdy all,

Got a strange one. I'll start by saying I'm fairly tech savvy but this one has me struggling.

Purchased a new OCZ Vertex 4 SSD. Starting with a fully working system I simply disconnected my existing Hard Drive and connected my new SSD. Just wanting to install W7 and run some tests, see what it's like.

Windows 7 installed, went through a few hours of updates/drivers etc.

Went to install latest nvidia 306.97 and it cant find my MSI 670 PE? Everything else is working perfectly. If I unplug the SSD and plug my old hard drive back in the GPU is working perfectly.

Never had this problem before and struggling for a solution now. Installed all the latest drivers for my older Asus M4A79 Deluxe mobo but cant seem to get it to recognise the card. It's listed in the device manager as a standard VGA adapter and thats it.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply m8, would you believe 2 mins after posting I sorted it lol!

The Asus M4A79 mobo uses the AMD 790FX chipset and I had installed the latest 12.8 chipset drivers from AMD.

I actually tried installing the original july 2009 chipset drivers that came with the mobo then tried the latest Nvidia drivers and it worked. Just reinstalled the latest 12.8 chipset drivers again and all is well.

Sometimes I wonder how non-tech interested people get by.

Anyways result, I'm happy. Now on to testing this new SSD!
