NVidia drivers, which to get?

Hey dudes,

So I have my new GTX470 and was wondering about what the best drivers were to get. I am coming from ATi so I was using older drivers (10.4a) and was wondering if there is a similar case with NVidia?

Also, is it worth installing smartdoctor and gamerOSD? When I installed them the other day, they seemed to be slightly unstable and I was unsure why. For example, I would boot up smartdoctor and no info would be displayed and it minimize itself after 1-2seconds. Only had it "working" once. Ideas?

Thanks

The Asus utilities are crud unfortunatly - but some Asus cards can only be properly voltage tweaked/overclocked with smartdoctor :(

258.96 So far seem to be the best drivers - 260.89 have some minor issues for some people but your mileage may vary.

Every now and then when I log onto Windows, after putting my password in the screen goes funny for 1-2seconds, like all distorted colours but then comes up with the desktop fine. This has happened since the new card but not explored drivers yet. I havent had any other issues. Might try the other drivers and see.

Possible fix?

I would'nt bother with smart doctor as the others have said, for both my asus 5770 and the asus 460 i had for a bit where both voltage tweakable via afterburner.

Its a far better utility then the asus ones, far far better.

everyone always uses 3rd party programs, but you can also download "nvidia system tools", install the "performance" application, adds a "performance" section to your nvidia control panel, and you can overclock the gfx card just fine from there too ;)
(cant change voltages though i think)
