I just have my new card with my machine, and wondered about Nvidia drivers, is it still the same where people are trying new beta and official drivers spread over the net for better performance, or has it settled down now where people are happiest with the official Nvidia driver releases?

Get the official ones for stability, for benchmarking and wanting a extra few% fps here and there, go beta. Of course there are often things like patches for certain games etc in betas that may be of a asset to you in a particular scenario.
