Hi All

Over the weekend i had a look at DSR ive never tried it before so thought id give it ago as im thinking about getting a better monitor next year but i also wanted to see how much better it looks from 1080p to 1440p and 4K. I only tried GTA V at almost max settings on my GTX 780 (dont remeber what was turned down)

1440p

Looked really good i could tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p everything looked sharper and slightly more detailed frame rates wernt too bad either i was getting roughly 45-50fps with almost maxed settings but it felt very smooth and more than playable, i did have some dips but nothing too bad.

4K

I couldn't really see much difference here from 1440p and frame rates were poor in the low 20's and not playable and im sure i would have had dips into single digits but i didnt play too much on the res.

how comparable is using Nvidia DSR to using a monitor that has a native res of 1440p or 4K would it actually look much better at a 1440p or 4K monitor?

Overall i was impressed by 1440p and how well my GTX 780 coped for some reason i had it in my head i would not be able to run it at 1440 and get playable frame rates.

Thanks All

its nice to find out how it works and then i can understand what it does then, i wont be upgrading the monitor untill next year so ill decide then weather to go 1440 or 4K im hoping pascal will make 4K playable with 1 GPU may be with some setting turned down, untill then ill use DSR with 1440p as it worked well with that :)

How does it look if your using a 4K monitor but want to game at 1440p if its ok i could just get a 4K and then if i need to turn settings down more than i really want to i could just drop the res to 1440p?
