I tried to uninstall it but the settings stay on and the system turns off after a few mins. But now I have it back on, but now all my downloads come corrupt and my torrents go at half the speed they supposed to. :(

i noticed this was happening on my an8 ultra (downloads corrupting with firewall s/w installed), had to remove it in the end, i even thought it was my slight overclock which was screwing things up but it wasnt!

if theres a fix, i'd like to know too!

happened to me, a reinstall failed to fix it much to my annoyance

simple fix

donwload the lastest NVIDIA drivers from the NVIDIA site on a second PC
(or using another NIC)

Then install the LAN drivers but remove every component that isn't the base driver - active armour, firewall, magic corrupting dohickey... all those!

It should now work.

Huh? Firewall? I've just bought an (old) nVidia, I don't want a graphics card manufacturer trying to 'protect' my PC..! So I have to be careful when installing the drivers?

Never installed before, i remember reading there were issues, but never took the time to read about them, all the more reason to keep avoiding installing it, thanx.... :)

Stop using it, simple as that.

It's not even a proper firewall and adds services such as apache which is over the top, as it's what web servers used to create different access rules to different ports.

If you're using ethernet anyway, then you would be much better off using your router/modems built in NAT firewall and Windows SP2 firewall for complete safe of mind.

Even if you don't have a modem/router and don't wish to purchase one then use a good software firewall.

Have you tried running a nvidia driver install?

Should come up with an option to completely uninstall older versions iirc.

yep i remember haveing loads off trouble with nvidia firewall i avoid it like the plague now . as said installing the original package will give you the option to remove although i did a fresh install and made sure when the option came to install nvidia active armour said no.

Yeah its like buying a fireguard off Cadbury's. Get a Comodo or ZA firewall man, that one sounds nasty. Hope you get it sorted.

Ive uninstalled it using ForceWare Manager 93.71 but the settings are still there and the zips ccome out corrupt.

Im on 4 meg and my torrents with 60 solid seeds go at 28kbs max

LOL, I always am careful when I install Nvidia drivers for Motherboards now.

I remember installing them on a friends older setup, and literally the internet would NOT work. I played with settings for ages, disabled it, nothing. I had to literally format (luckily it was a fresh build, so it wasn't a big deal) to get it all working again.

When I remove them from the Forceware control panel, the pc keeps crashing after a while and I cant even move the mouse.

Sometimes the blue screen of death appears when the firewall has been uninstalled. Downloads still corrupt.

its probably the settings are still there or some sort of reminence of the firewall

best thing to sort stuff like that out would be a reinstall
