Nvidia forceware 163.71 beta

Wow Nvidia are really pushing the boat out for these drivers releases. The 163.69 aren't even WHQL yet for XP :P

This 2900 Pro must be good then :D. They stepped up a gear when the 2900XT got released so although I'm just having a laugh it might have some truth in it .

Edit: Lol Loadsa :D.

Im trying to work out what possible fixes these could have extra over the couple of days old 163.69's, i doubt its worth installing these, may as well wait for the 169.73's, probs Monday. :p

Look Nvidia, PRO, its slower than the XT, stop panicing again. :D:D

• Improved compatibility with PT Boats: Knights of the Sea
• Added NVIDIA SLI profile for Team Fortress 2

big whoop

Nah it's most likely just a ton of Crysis optimisations atm.

Just installed these and did a 3dmark 06 test and got nearly 100 points more although i have not done a 3dmark test for a few driver revisions so it may have been a driver or two ago that gave me that increase.

One thing though, i checked the driver version in device manager after installing the 163.71 betas and it shows its still the 163.69 whql drivers i installed a few days ago but i deffo downloaded the beta 163.71 betas from link and uninstalled and reinstalled properly

Anybody else get this in device manager under the display adaptor driver info.?

maybe you need to run something lik driver cleaner?

Im assuming thats a problem with the Vista set if you had the 163.69 WHQL's on, as 163.71 fine here in XP in the Device Manager, and in the system info of the Nv CP.

The 163.71s for Windows XP feature:

- Improved compatibility and performance for NVIDIA SLI technology on Microsoft DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 2.1 applications
- Improved compatibility for The Way It’s Meant To Be Played game titles: BioShock, Crysis, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Hellgate: London, PT Boats: Knights of the Sea, and World in Conflict
- Added NVIDIA SLI profile for Team Fortress 2
- Added PureVideo HD decode acceleration for GeForce 8600, 8500 and 8400 series GPUs
- Numerous game and application compatibility fixes

The Vista version features 'only':

- Improved compatibility for PT Boats: Knights of the Sea and added NVIDIA SLI profile for Team Fortress 2
