i'm having a right pigs ear with this.

Currently at work and am trying to install some FX1700 graphics drivers yet they wont work.

I dissable my card in devise settings yet Win7 then installs basic drivers and my card is recognised as "vga compatable".

i then run the Nvidia 190.38 driver package (in administrator mode). Half way through it tells me that no drivers are in the package specific for my card and closes.

So i tried the new 259 package and same again.

It's getting really frustraiting now as i've got two monitors i want to use but can only use one.

any idea chaps

yes mate.

well the ones that pop up on the nvidia site

sometimes the driver runs through and creates a folder in programme files with all the drivers etc in but Win7 wont pick it up. even when i speciaficaly point the driver update to the folder it still says VGA Compatible

Try some really old ones like 160.xx (or however far back win7 support goes) then if that works install latest over the top.

see this is where the error occured.

i installed the latest over the top of the 190.38 drivers installed and it messed everything up.

so tried uninstalling everything, re-installing 190.38 and it wont work.

On Nvidia site it recommends 191.66 for Autodesk (CAD) so i'm about to try them

this is what i receive after trying to install 191.66 as administrator

Does the system have a restore point to before you installed over the top of the 190.38 drivers?

EDIT: Just incase - it is a 32bit version (as the driver package is 32bit) of windows and not 64bit?

right i've tried all drivers which are on the Nvidia Quadro website and still no joy. i believe it's a McCrappy virus protection which is now blocking it making changes to the registry etc.

being an enterprise version i can't pause it from my machine to test.

but it's doing my head it
