**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

The VX2025... that takes me back! Almost 10 years now. Played Xbox 360 on it as well as PC, lush.
Yep, stunning monitor for it's time. Same panel as the benq in my sig iirc. Image quality on both is excellent. But both a little slow for fast paced gaming.

Yep, viewsonic vx2025. Bought it at the time i built my first ever pc. Back in the days of amd 64 s939. Got the screen just before c2d came on the scene so it's probably older than i first thought.

Think I went through three of them for backlight bleed....in the end after returning and delivering three they sent me a fourth with a cheque in for the cost of the monitor :p

You can add me to the list. Had my Acer XB280HK 4k monitor for a couple of weeks and simply love it. Paired with a Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 it runs great. Upgraded from a pair of Dell U2412M displays. As you would expect the colour accuracy is not quite as good, but it's not far off and not a problem at all.

The real beauty of this is how fluid it feels. Took a few days to get used to the increased detail and frame smoothness. Since I'm only using a single card, I've had to drop the detail down on games slightly to keep framerates decent. G-Sync does a fantastic job of reducing stutter. Most games feel feel laggy normally when they go below 60fps but much much less with G-Sync.

It won't do anything to resolve massive framerate drops but it does eliminate the need to run silly levels of GPU power, if you're willing to drop the settings down slightly. Couldn't ask for more really ( except for a second GTX 980 if anyone has one spare :p )

Lol, my first build I went all out on bad taste. Trust me, current one is much more subtle/refined.:D

Just missing 120hz... hell after playing with VSR I'd take 85hz. Unless it was software stuttering 60hz felt awful and 85 much like 144. Strange that. Of course that Microsoft researcher did write a paper about this recently.

Yep, will have to be 4K/120hz to get me to drop the swift, though i'm not fussed about TN vs IPS as I think TN will still have the faster pixel transitions

And yes, that research showed that the eye vibrates at 82hz to allow different receptors to sample the same image, so basically that is the minimum framerate to allow your eye to do its own kind of super resolution sampling... they also found that a light film grain effect also made an image look more realistic to the eye

I promised myself that I wouldn't spend on my computer this year (hardware wise) but a 4K at 100Hz plus and G-Sync will change that.

ULMB is a pretty specific feature aimed at pretty specific gamers/games. Very useful for competitive FPS etc.

It's not a feature I personally care about.

I would take a 144Hz G-SYNC only IPS panel over a 144Hz G-SYNC and ULMB TN panel any day of the week. Assuming the IPS was up to scratch in the response time arena.

It's all down to your usage and preference. ULMB would be at the bottom of my want list. After Refresh Rate and Resolution I would be looking at panel type (IE IPS)

I think the shame is not many games these days can run at 100fps+
they all have huge dips sometimes

besides games like cs & LoL what games are there ><
none of the new ones seem to care about it
