NVIDIA Geforce 266.58 WHQL

Well these drivers are great for me mafia 2 , just-cause 2 & metro all now work with out crashing

Cards in sli @ 900 core and 2200 mem @ 1.5 v

Well 3D vision doesn't seem to work at all with these.

I get no green light on the little USB hub, games seem stuck in "discover" mode and the drivers seem to think everything is fine and dandy. Removing and replacing the hub makes the light come on for about 30 seconds but games are still in discover mode. Running the initial setup gives me the instructions for the stereo glasses but still displays in discover colours.

I initially installed over 260.99 but have since done a clean install with the same outcome.

Any ideas?

Edit:

Nevermind, it seems 3D vision requires a separate 2mb file from the 3Dvision site to update the USB hub for these drivers - why that file couldn't have been bundled or nvidia couldn't have mentioned that I don't know.

Only tested theese with heaven bench so far, slight drop from 101.6 fps to 100.8 fps. Will try with a few games later.

How many of you reset your GPU card back to stock settings before you install the latest drivers, l do for one you correct me if l'm wrong, when you install the drivers its expecting your GPU to be at stock settings for example - GTX 470 at 607/1215/1674 not 850/1700/2000. This could be causing problems as well, l turn of Afterburner as well, basicly did the same with ATI even though l just used ATI CCC to OC, l always put my 5870 back to stock settings as well. I think by doing this it helps to reduce any problems when you update your drivers, the only thing that gave me any problems was when l tried beta drivers for my 470 > WSOD, just re-installed WHQL 260.99 fine and so are the WHQL 266.58 running fine no WSOD.

No didn't reset it. May do this and reinstall them when I can be bothered.:D

MOH keeps crashing on me with these drivers for the first time ever. Looks like a bad driver for me and I'm going back to the beta. :(

No issues so far with moh, played online a bit earlier. Running very smoothly with 32 x aa, 16 x af. Bfbc2 feels a bit smoother, now able to run problem free with aa above 4x.

Running Asus Smart Doctor (with 470)- came with card and n'er a problem.

Read this thread and noted comments made about best to set card to defaults before installing new drivers.

Forgot:o and installed without either uninstalling old or clocking back.

No problems :) Except that when I remembered that I should have returned the card to defaults ran the Smart Doctor which confirmed that the core was still running at the setting I'd used of 707mhz (will not go any higher in Smart) - good ! THEN noticed the voltage was running at 1.087 volt when I had set it at standard 0.962 v (in fact I've never touched either voltage or memory speeds - did not want to unless needed and have not had to)

Can only assume that the voltage was automatically increased during installing the new drivers - not good:( (Probably safe at the new voltage but I do prefer to run cool so do not look to increase volts unless absolutely necessary.)

ive been using the last whql drivers. so will give these new ones ago for my 2x460 1gb evga's. didnt find any problems with the other drivers though i must say.

Is there any proof that this is necessary? Surely checking the clean install box would reset this anyway (provided MSI AB is not running at the time of install?

Be interested to know if these are different from the betas as they gave me constant WSOD in BC2 and dont want to go through the hassle of reinstalling again if these are the same.

White screen of death?

What card do you have mate?

Do you mean when you were playing BFBC2 it would white screen but you could still here the noise?

White screen of death on BBC2 can be solved by changing the AA settings. The game and cards are not crashing, It is the bug which causes rendering of a white screen and will be fixed within next release.

Exactly that. GTX 570. Only happened with the beta drivers and i didnt know at that time that it could be avoided by using 4xAA or less. Will install these new ones at the wknd and give 32xAA a try (which incidently works find with the previous WHQL release i rolled back to).

Did you put your 470s back to stock before installing latest driver?
No, i forgot to tbh, i normally do revert to stock though when changing drivers.

EDIT @ creed, i had that wsod problem with the 266.35 beta's, anything above 4xaa caused it, installed theese latest 266.58 drivers, bfbc2 running happily so far with 8xaa, only played for a bit though, ill give it a more thorough play later tonight.
